Research laboratories
There are numerous applications in research where clean air, particle containment or both are required. Our Class II biological safety cabinets with double filters, now also available with bypass exhaust systems, are used in cancer research laboratories around the world.
Class III biological safety cabinets are ideal for all research into highly infectious diseases, including military facilities involved in defence against chemical and biological attacks. There are numerous research activities where the air must be virtually particle-free. For these applications, we offer various safety cabinets with horizontal and vertical unidirectional airflow.
Other research activities require a controlled atmosphere with either low oxygen, low humidity or both, for which we offer specialised controlled atmosphere isolators.
Hospitals
The biological safety cabinets are frequently used in pathology, microbiology and haematology to protect users from infection when processing tissue samples, blood and toxic substances. For many years, we have been distributing isolators for hospital pharmacy, in which medicines are mixed and prepared for patients. Under no circumstances should these medications be contaminated microbiologically or by particles.
These can be positive pressure isolators, if the main requirement is to protect the products, or negative pressure isolators, if the user also needs to be protected from possible contamination by cell-damaging drugs of unknown toxicity. Lead-lined isolators are used for handling radiopharmaceuticals in nuclear medicine.
Biotechnology
Our entire range of standard Class I, II and III biological safety cabinets in the larger versions for robot-controlled sampling is suitable for this market.
We are happy to offer you special isolators made of different materials such as stainless steel or plastic, which can be used in conjunction with bioreactors and other biotechnology equipment.
