Cross flow units
The FASTER Cross Flow Units (CFU) are specially developed modular systems for the safe handling of powdery substances during sampling, weighing and dosing operations. Originally designed to meet the stringent requirements of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, CFUs now offer a reliable solution for a wide range of production areas where powder dusts pose a potential risk to people, products and the environment.
The CFU modules create a controlled working environment through targeted air routing, which ensures personal protection, product protection and environmental protection - and thus consistently eliminates the risk of cross-contamination.

Functional principle: Lateral laminar airflow with containment
The cross flow units generate a horizontal laminar air flow, which is combined with a slight negative pressure. This shields the module from the room air system and at the same time ensures continuous cleaning of the work surface. This air flow concept prevents powder particles from entering the environment and at the same time protects the product from contamination by ambient dust or foreign particles.
Construction and materials
Housing
- Made entirely of high-quality AISI 304L stainless steel with Scotch-Brite surface (4B finish)
- Pressure-bent metal plates with 3 mm radius to prevent dirt deposits and for easy cleaning
- Roughness depth: < 0.8 Ra - for optimum cleanability and smooth surfaces
Side panels & containment
- Lateral containment thanks to sturdy stainless steel side panels
- Flexible PVC strip curtains provide additional protection against particle discharge
High-performance filter system
Pre-filtration
- G3 filter cells made of AISI 304L stainless steel with quick-opening replacement system (without screws)
- F9 pocket filter (V-shaped) in accordance with EN 779 for efficient coarse and fine dust separation
Main filtration
- H14 HEPA filter with stainless steel protective grille
- Main and exhaust air filters in DUG format, with integrated volume flow control and DEHS test connection
- Efficiency: ≥ 99.995 % with MPPS in accordance with CEN EN 1822
- Special plenum design for homogeneous air distribution and optimum filter performance
Bag-in-bag filter change possible for contamination-free maintenance
Ventilation & airflow
- Electronically controlled, highly efficient double intake fan (type ECM DDTAC)
- Energy-saving air flow with consistently high volume flow rate
- Low noise level, ideal for laboratory environments
Monitoring & control
- Pressure monitoring by means of electronic sensor with analogue display via Dwyer pressure gauge
- External stainless steel control unit for simple operation and system control
Optional equipment
- Cooling unit for temperature control of the air flow
- ATEX-compatible design for potentially explosive atmospheres
- Ex certification for applications in zones with gas or dust atmospheres
- Further individual adaptations possible on request (e.g. special sizes, choice of material, colour scheme)
