SafeFAST Elite Class III

In contrast to classic Class II safety cabinets, the Class III variant is a hermetically sealed unit. Access to the work area is exclusively via integrated gloves in the front area. All entrances and exits for materials are controlled via airlocks or transfer chambers, which are also operated under negative pressure.

This makes the SafeFAST Elite Class III ideal for:

• Working with BSL-3 or BSL-4 pathogens
• Highly pathogenic microorganisms and viruses
• Cytotoxic or genotoxic substances
• Biological agents of risk group 3 or 4
• Use in high-security laboratories, military research or pharmaceutical development departments

• The cabinet operates with a multi-stage filter system in negative pressure mode. Both the working chamber and the airlocks (transfer flaps) are kept under constant negative pressure to prevent any potential leakage to the outside.
• Air routing:
  • 70 % of the air is recirculated via an H14 HEPA main filter
  • 30% of the air is controlled and decontaminated via a separate H14 HEPA exhaust filter
• Air purity class:
  • Laminar flow in the working chamber in accordance with ISO class 3 (in accordance with EN ISO 14644-1)
  • Avoidance of cross-contamination between different samples or substances

• Energy efficiency: power consumption <281 W
• Noise level: <53 dB(A) - quiet in operation despite powerful filter technology
• CO₂ emissions: Low thanks to optimised air routing
• Microprocessor-controlled control panel: Visualisation of all safety-relevant parameters, including alarm functions
• Interior: Made of high-quality AISI 304 stainless steel, optionally also AISI 316L for increased chemical resistance
• Segmented work surface: Easy to remove, hygienically cleanable
• Safety glass side panels: Robust construction, clear view, ideal for checking the work area
• LED lighting outside the air flow: For optimum illumination without air turbulence

• Integrated sockets (230 V): 2 or 3 sockets - depending on appliance size
• Media connections (Ø19 mm): 3 connections per side panel - e.g. for vacuum, gas or compressed air
• Motorised, hinged front panel (only for maintenance by authorised personnel) - facilitates cleaning & servicing
• Connections for DEHS filter integrity tests - GMP-compliant validation and maintenance

• Transfer airlock with internal decontamination function (e.g. with H₂O₂ or UV-C)
