What we stand for

We see ourselves as a supplier and partner for equipment and services that are technically mature, economical, safe and of the highest precision and guaranteed quality. We are jointly committed to fulfilling requirements and maintaining the effectiveness of the management system and environmental protection. In line with this joint commitment, the following guiding principles apply as the highest guideline that determines the behaviour of management and employees.

Technology

We are a technological driving force in our industry. Our aim is to bring devices onto the market that improve day-to-day work in medical laboratories, research and industry. Our employees have a high level of technical expertise, which is checked every year by independent and accredited test centres.

Our service

We see ourselves as a fair and reliable supplier and partner that our customers can rely on. Our customers are always at the centre of everything we do. In order to respond to individual customer requirements, we offer a wide range of customised designs and are available 24 hours a day for emergencies.

Safety and security

We offer services that lead to greater safety and quality. This is how we make our customers more successful and ensure confidence in products and processes along the value chain. The safety of our appliances, our service and our customers' applications is our top priority. Our appliances all comply with the requirements of applicable directives (CE labelling) and the corresponding safety requirements.

Sustainability and efficiency

  • Environmental protection

The protection of the environment and the careful use of resources are values that guide us. We are constantly striving to minimise the consumption of energy and natural raw materials. This is achieved through the conscious use of natural resources and technological developments that reduce consumption. Our products make us an ecological pioneer in environmental protection. We are also subject to constant monitoring of compliance with environmental values through the DIN ISO 14001 environmental management system.

  • FASTER Green Manufacturing

The fundamental issue for any industrial production that aims to reduce its environmental impact is the energy required to run the factory:

For example, the FASTER factory is completely powered by solar cells on the roof of the building.

  • FASTER building management system

This innovative FASTER building management system makes it possible to generate energy for the unrestricted operation of the factory at all times. Especially during the hottest hours of the day, energy generation reaches its full potential and makes a significant contribution to the energy supply.

Even on days when there is no sunshine, the system can draw on external energy sources. Through the combination of efficient energy generation and intelligent energy management, the system helps to optimise energy consumption and minimise the use of environmentally harmful resources. This not only increases the sustainability of the factory, but also achieves long-term cost savings.

  • FASTER Recycling Structure

One area of environmentally friendly manufacturing in which the metal industry can excel is the recycling and reuse of waste materials. The FASTER factory has processes in place to collect, reuse and recycle scrap material. This can be as simple as collecting scrap in designated bins or boxes and recycling the material at set intervals.

    • FASTER buys components such as lamps, electronic cards, etc. on the market to use in the assembly of safety cabinets and then pays a consortium to recycle all this packaging.
    • As for the iron, stainless steel or aluminium sheets used for the assembly of safety cabinets: Everything is recovered and recycled. Waste accounts for around 20% of the material purchased. The recycling industry pays us 30% of the cost of the new material. A win-win situation for us and for the environment.
    • As far as our products are concerned, over 92% (by weight) of a Biohazard locker is made from recyclable materials. A SafeFAST Elite 212 D, for example, weighs 190 kg.

Only 15kg of this 190kg is non-recyclable (e.g. sockets and other rigid plastic parts; filters are usually incinerated and not recycled as they are treated as contaminated waste). Most of the weight is actually iron, stainless steel, glass or recyclable plastics.

This is the FASTER way to environmentally friendly manufacturing.

  • Energy efficiency

Most FASTER biological safety cabinets and fume cupboards are equipped with the ECS® Eco Controlling System. What is it? It is a microprocessor that utilises the latest innovative methods of integrated management of all key aeration and filtration functions to reduce pressure drops and restore performance balance.

By combining an AC blower motor and certified H14 HEPA/ULPA low pressure drop filters, the ECS® control system optimises energy consumption and reduces CO2 emissions into the environment.

The technology in our full extraction chemical fume bonnets, such as ChemFAST Sharp and Classic, enables our customers to save energy by finding a favourable compromise between air conditioning consumption and the most difficult pollutant capture rates.

    Example Chemfast
ChemFAST Premium is designed to combine molecular filtration with the aeraulic working principles of recirculation and extraction: a brand new hybrid fume cupboard technology developed by Faster to reduce energy consumption by 80%. In addition, even the small amount of air used is always filtered before being released into the environment.

We know we can do even more. Our research and development department is working on further innovations to make our technologies even more environmentally friendly.
