Information on
Laboratory freezers
Many laboratories carry out research on highly sensitive substances that place the highest demands on constant storage temperatures. Even slight deviations can affect shelf life and usability. With a laboratory freezer, you are on the safe side in this respect.
Laboratories must be able to guarantee the quality and usability of tests, experiments, inspections and process controls. This requires not only precise measurement methods, but also reliable output data. The requirements placed on laboratory refrigerators in terms of temperature safety and hygiene are correspondingly high.
- Stable design
- Defined tolerance values for the temperature
- Defined alarm values
- Temperature alarm
- Alarm in case of power failure
- Easy to clean inner door
- Doors close absolutely tight
- Load capacity of the shelves
- Ice-free cooling unit after defrosting
- Temperature control
Thanks to innovative cooling technologies, our laboratory refrigerators and chests keep temperatures safely within the desired range. They also offer smart functions and safety features that guarantee optimum storage conditions even in the event of unforeseen events or operating errors.
Work in laboratories can have many different objectives. This is why the requirements for the freezer or deep freezer differ from laboratory to laboratory. That's why we don't offer you one laboratory refrigerator that fits everything, but a wide selection of different models.
Whether you are looking for a high-performer, a particularly sustainable laboratory freezer or a large-volume laboratory freezer - you will find what you are looking for here. It goes without saying that our portfolio also fulfils the different temperature requirements in the various areas of application.
With temperatures of up to -86 °C, the ULT models are suitable for samples that are subject to strict regulations for continuous cooling, such as viruses, bacteria, red and white blood cells, skin and bone samples, pathogenic substances and sperm. They therefore fulfil the strict requirements of hospitals, scientific research institutes, agricultural businesses, fishing companies, biomedical institutes and companies in the electronics and chemical industries.
To ensure absolutely safe operation, the ultra deep freezers have been equipped with many useful functions. For example, the simultaneous display of input voltage and ambient temperature makes it easier to monitor the ambient conditions. Multiple door seals minimise the loss of cold air in the individual compartments. In addition, all temperature data can be downloaded via a USB port. UL and CE certification guarantee that the cooling units are safe to use.
A safety padlock device on the outer door and a lockable door handle allow you to restrict access. This keeps the contents of the freezers safe from unauthorised persons.
The ULT refrigerators can be used at ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 32 °C. The wide operating voltage range of 200 to 260 volts means that the appliances can also be used in areas with a poor power supply.
In addition, each ultra-low temperature freezer for the laboratory has a 5-volt power connection, allowing it to be operated independently of the mains supply. An optional CO2 or LN2 backup system guarantees 24-hour temperature safety in the event of a mechanical failure or power cut.
With an output of 1,600 watts, the cryo-lab freezer can reach temperatures as low as -150 °C and therefore offers a convenient, reliable and economical solution for the long-term storage of samples. Viruses, erythrocytes and leucocytes can be stored safely in it, as can skin and skeletal samples, oceanic substances and special test materials and electronic products for tests. Their most important areas of application include hospitals, blood banks, epidemic prevention services, research laboratories and research institutes.
The cryogenic freezer has various safety features, including an alarm system with user-programmable alarm setpoints for high and low temperatures, sensor failure, power failure, remote alarm, hot condenser and excessive ambient temperatures. The alarm can be both audible and visual. Also on board are protective functions such as the management of authorised user IDs for configuration, a start-up delay and a voltage compensation system.
The cryogenic laboratory freezer can be used at ambient temperatures from 10 °C to 30 °C. For additional safety in the laboratory, the freezer can be equipped with a CO2 or LN2 backup system and a 5-volt power connection.
No two laboratories are the same. It is therefore important to select the freezer for the laboratory carefully. It is advisable to keep the following criteria in mind:
Temperature range
Depending on the substances you want to store in the laboratory refrigerator, it should cover a specific temperature range. We will be happy to inform you about our design variants and work with you to find the right cooling unit for your laboratory.
Volume
A laboratory refrigerator should be large enough, but not significantly oversized. If the capacity is too small, you will be faced with problems if you ever need to store more items. On the other hand, if the compartments are permanently only half full, an unnecessary amount of energy is required to maintain the low temperatures. This not only costs money, but also harms the environment.
Sealability
If you store hazardous substances in the refrigerator, it should be lockable or fitted with a special safety device. This also applies when storing substances for specific test procedures or important experiments. All Haier Biomedical freezers are equipped with reliable security devices to ensure adequate access control.
